Thank you, Patrick, for so proudly and eloquently explaining and defending our Faith.
It is frightening to hear some of the ignorance out there, however “Coach” was a gracious host.
So sad the anger and hatred I hear in some voices, while claiming to be Christians and quoting Scripture. I am a devout Catholic, and I had no idea until recently protestants felt such animosity toward the Catholic faith…That they will openly degrade our faith even from the “pulpit”. Absurd. Your apologetics are a much needed shield for a well-informed defense or evangelical tool.
Just curious, if they are “Sola Scriptura”, where does one ever read of Jesus speaking with one word of animosity or hatred toward anyone? Never. Only to call some hypocrites, which is the case here! Also, why do so many protestants support abortion and birth control if they believe in Sola Scriptura. This just demonstrates how the Catholic Church is, and always shall be, the one true Church.
Thanks, Patrick! & Love ‘A Year With the Bible’!!

What I don’t understand is why an evangelical has to start yelling and screaming and then tell you that you’re taking things out of context…. When you’re trying to form the debate in its Biblical context.

Awesome job with the show here. Your calm in dealing with the rude callers out there was pretty amazing. I got pretty irate listening to that one man who was interrupting you. He didn’t want his questions answered. He just wanted to get in a few good “ones” at that “Catholic” guy. I think all of us that are Catholics need to be apologists because anyone of us (as it as happened to me in the past)can attack our faith. We don’t want to get caught with our maouths open or yammering on not amking sense. We need to be ready for it’s defense and clarification. Talk about context holy smokes! There’s a pot calling the kettle black. There’s a good apologetic saying I’ve herd on Catholic Answers “Text without context is pretext”.

Eph 6:11 Put on the armor of God that we may be able to resist on the evil day.

I though the Right Here, Right Now show was the fastest hour! I was so intrigued to hear this program that it seemed way too short. As always Patrick, your knowledge of the truth, and your very christian way of explaining it is exemplary. Thank you so much for all that you do for our Catholic faith; I pray to follow your example in love and humility. Blessings.

I am so proud of you, Patrick! I have listened to the first part, and I am sure you have converted a bunch of protestants after that!
I was impressed by the “Coach” and his politeness.

The Holy Spirit has filled you with wisdom, patience and kindness. It’s so obvious in listening to you! And of course, that is how we fill up our churches, right? Great example for us all.

    Merry Christmas!!

Wow! What a witness to our faith and so well spoken as usual! I love the Right here Right Now radio show. You have helped me so much in that I have grown so much through your teachings and example. Thank you. I am now able to witness to members of my family who converted to Jehovahs witnesses over twenty years ago, and although not anywhere nearly as calm or graceful as you would, atleast I feel like there is hope for them, thanks! Any chance we will have the privileges of you getting a show on EWTN tv? Also, an extra hour Right Here Right Now? I sure hope so! God bless you. Keep inspiring us!

Patrick – I enjoyed this greatly. From the the host referring to Christ’s Church as “this whole Catholic thing” to the guy who called you the “Jack Chick of Catholicism”, I was enlightened and entertained by your poise in the face of genuine hostility. And that is what I wanted to comment on…why is there so much anger and hostility from certain Protestant quarters against the Catholic Church? I don’t believe I will ever understand it. When that preacher was berating you I thought of this quote from a good Catholic saint, Josemaria Escriva: “The day you see yourself as you are, you will think it natural to be despised by others” (The Way, #593). In my entire life as a practicing Catholic (48 years) I have never heard a Catholic priest, nun, parent or teacher make a negative comment about any Protestant denomination. In fact, they were never discussed or mentioned at all. Perhaps, therein lies the reason for their hostility.

I wish I could say I enjoyed this exchange, but I could feel my blood pressure rising with each caller – especially “Howard.” Oh, my. Thank goodness there are people like you, inspired by the Holy Spirit, to defend Holy Mother Church. God bless you!
